On a frigid East Coast day we are going to reach across the country and holla at an emcee hailing out of the Sunshine state. We had a chance to catch up with Philos and this is how it went …

HipHopLEAD: How did you come up with your name?

Philos: I was 13 when I was branded by a child hood friend.

HipHopLEAD: Established artists constantly try to get there name out there and pass demos along. How is it you were able to catch the attention of Travis Barker?

Philos: My style and sound is very different..

HipHopLEAD: You have a pretty good resume to date. You have worked with Paul Wall and Travis Barker … who is next on the list?

Philos: Really can’t predict the future…it’s all up to who fucks with me.

HipHopLEAD: What songs you have done to date that seperate you from the norm? and why?

Philos: My word play, and style, it’s different then what you hear now.

HipHopLEAD: Do you think you can bring the West back?

Philos: The West back? (laughs) !!! My focus is to bring back originality, and it so happen I’m from the west. The future will answer that question.

HipHopLEAD: Who would win in a one on one basketball game ..you or Slim thug? (laughs)

Philos: (heavy laughs) Slim’s a big man!!! But fuckin with me he’ll get posterized!! (laughs) !!

HipHopLEAD: Is “Woman On My Mind” going to be a hyphy record?

Philos: (laughs) !!! woman on my mind is a story written by a rare author (Philos)…. and I have tracks that will have you hyphy, turnt up etc.

HipHopLEAD: What are some of the features you have planned for that project?

Philos: You’ll have to wait and see.. (laughs)!!

HipHopLEAD: What are the concepts on there?

Philos: It’s about women and other people who can relate to what I’m sayin…

HipHopLEAD: Who were your influences to get into music?

Philos: I have many… too many to list.

HipHopLEAD: How would you describe your style of hip-hop?

Philos: I don’t do hip hop…I do Philos style of music
