Luck Williams – Philly Upcoming Artist
Today we are chilling it with a new up and coming rapper named Luck Williams.
HipHopLEAD: For starts where did the name come from?
Luck Williams: People used to call me Lucky when I was young, I just shortened it to Luck. And Williams is my government.
HipHopLEAD: Where are you reppin?
Luck Williams: Germentown, PA
HipHopLEAD: What made you wanna get into HipHop?
Luck Williams: I had a good friend named L-Myers who was trying to get into rap at the time and we were messin around one day (we worked together) and I started freestylin and he told me I should come to studio with him…and I’ve been at it ever since.
HipHopLEAD: Who were your influences to get into music?
Luck Williams: When I first got into the game, my influence used to be L-Myers. I used to go to the underground battles with him in Philly and he used to kill n*ggaz. I also found it interesting that I might be able to provide for my family one day with my talent.
HipHopLEAD: Being from Philly .. are you happy with the current artists leading the way for Philly?
Luck Williams: Well I just started gettin happy actually. There was a lot of hate goin on, but it pleases me to see some up and coming rappers in Philly sticking together. It always used to crack me up to see n*ggaz dissin each other and they don’t have no album out.
HipHopLEAD: Out of all the Philly artists of all time what two are the most relevant to you?
Luck Williams: I can’t really narrow it down to two, maybe three… Beanie Segal, E-Ness, and Meek Millz
HipHopLEAD: What projects have you released to date?
Luck Williams: I did a mixtape back in the day that was hosted by Michael Shawn of 100.3 The Beat. That was called “Next Up”. That’s when I was first learning how to rap, so I wasn’t particularly proud of how it came out, but I knew I was on my way to gettin great. I’m currently in the process of working on my next mixtape, “The Philadelphia Project”.
HipHopLEAD: Which was your favorite and why?
Luck Williams: The Philadelphia Project because I see my growth as an artist and it had just been a lot of fun writing and recording.
HipHopLEAD: Are you on a label?
Luck Williams: I do a lot of collaboration with an independent label, “Spitflame Entertainment”. My man Kiz Raw is the head of that label. But am I officially signed to anyone…no.
HipHopLEAD: Any new projects coming out? Any features?
Luck Williams: “The Philadelphia Project.” I collaborated with only Philly artists because of the theme of the mixtape. I got a joint wit E-Ness, another with Kiz Raw, my man S-5 came through and we worked together (he’s startin to get it poppin in Philly). I also got a joint with an up and coming singer known as Vandy B. and my man Debonair.
HipHopLEAD: How would you describe your style of hip-hop?
Luck Williams: Diverse. Some stuff sounds more underground and others are more mainstream. At the end of the day I like to push myself and have fun.
HipHopLEAD: What is a typical day like for you?
Luck Williams: Trappin
HipHopLEAD: Other then music what do you do to make that paper?
Luck Williams: Trappin
HipHopLEAD: Are you impressed with the response you have received from your presence on Digital Dynasty and Unsigned On The Grind?
Luck Williams: Of course! It’s a good way to get your music out to an audience that you never had before. It’s easy for n*ggaz in your hood to say your gettin good, but when people from all over are saying your name, it’s on a whole different level, and I owe that to the mixtape grind.

Luck Williams: I’m happy with any change that’s in a positive direction and any person whose willing to do their job to make sure that change happens.

Luck Williams: Okay Ima school you through some Philly sh*t right now…battlin some one in they face and on a song is two different things. Cassidy is a beast when it come sto battlin n*ggaz in they face, but Beanie would kill Cass in a song. But overall, Ima have to choose Beans.
