Isaiah – Detroit Upcoming Artist

So the other day Advo tells us he got this dude who is featured on the new Digital Dynasty album. His name is Isaiah and he is from Detroit. Then he sends over some samples of this dudes album and we are impressed.

Not just because he can spit but because in this day an age we found a rapper not concerned with the cliche raps about beef, money, cash and hoes. Instead this is all real talk on that album. So this is going to make for an interesting interview. So sit back and bare witness while we chop it up with Isaiah.

HipHopLEAD: We understand your background has had you in Detroit. . How would you describe your sound and the overall hip hop sound of Detroit in 2011?

Isaiah: I’m not sure of whether or not most people know but Detroit is probably the roughest city in the nation at this particular moment. So most of my music stems from the struggles and frustrations I’ve known all my life being raised in the city of Detroit.

HipHopLEAD: What made you wanna get into Hip Hop?

Isaiah: I’ve always had a love and a passion for good music but the thing that turned me on most about hip hop was being able to express myself musically in rhyme form.

HipHopLEAD: Who were your influences to get into music?

Isaiah: My influences in music are almost too numerous to name. But just to give a few I would say Michael Jackson, 2Pac Shakur, and the hometown homey Mr. Marshall Mathers.

HipHopLEAD: What projects have you released to date?

Isaiah: My first release was a mixtape by the name of “Driven”. 1st album was “Undadog”. And the follow up sequel was “Undadog: Chapter 2”.

HipHopLEAD: Your new album, “Undadog 2″, is a 13 song collection ranging from songs dealing with current politics, to the history of the country and most of all the everyday struggle. Do you think from being from a city like Detroit it makes you fit the mold regarding those topics?

Isaiah: Absolutely. Being from a city where it appears to be absolutely no opportunities, along with coming from the background that I come from you would pretty much expect me to make the kind of music I make. I’m being real.

HipHopLEAD: How has Isaiah evolved since the first “Undadog” album?

Isaiah: The contents are pretty much the same but the wordplay, delivery, production, and potency of the flow has greatly increased.

HipHopLEAD: What made you choose that title?

Isaiah: My life. The underdog is someone who is not favored to win and that’s been me all my life.

HipHopLEAD: One song that intrigued us was “Step By Step”. It was basically like a manual or a survival guide for someone. What made you write that record?

Isaiah: The beat was soulful and it moved me. The unique thing about that song is I truly feel that that’s the one that God gave me. Because the hook came to me in my sleep. As far as the verses, I just opened my heart when I wrote them as I try to do with every song I write.

HipHopLEAD: Any new projects coming out after this? Any features?

Isaiah: The project I’m currently recording is “Undadog: 3” (The Final Chapter). Presently no planned features.

HipHopLEAD: Hit us with 8 of your favorite bars you ever spit…

Isaiah: A I been cast aside and underestimated / they kicked me when I was down and then celebrated /And yo I’m guessin they thought that I would never make it /So it surprised my city to see me elevated /The jealous ones that hated are now devastated /The insults that they slung just kept me motivated /My mindset got better the flow cultivated /Now it’s a proven fact that I was underrated – (from the song “Not Ya Ordinary” from the upcoming album Undadog 3 The Final Chapter)

HipHopLEAD: Who does Detroit lean towards for more inspiration … the Nas and Jay z’s or the Snoops and Dre’s ?

Isaiah: I cant speak for the entire city of Detroit. Personally I lean towards Jesus.

HipHopLEAD: Here at HipHopLead.com we like to ask our features some questions that really are out of the norm. We do this because it gives the fans a broader outlook on you.So lets get it cracking …. Do you like Eminems new album?

Isaiah: I think it’s a classic and I’m extremely proud of the work he’s done.

HipHopLEAD: Eminem in 2001 or 2011?

Isaiah: 2011

HipHopLEAD: Other then music what do you do with your time?

Isaiah: The grind, the gym, the church..

HipHopLEAD: Tell us a hidden talent you have?

Isaiah: Boxing

HipHopLEAD: What is gonna happen in 12-2012??

Isaiah: I have no idea. The bible says no man knows the day or the hour.
