Last week, the Hip Hop world was stunned to learn that Rick Ross cancelled the rest of his Maybach Music Group tour due gang threats. Now, TMZ reports that it seems police are investigating the matter.
The Chicago Police Department is starting to investigate the threats aimed at Ross by the infamous Chicago-based gang the Gangster Disciples. Before the North Carolina leg of Ross’ tour, the Gangster Disciples put out a video threatening the rapper’s life if he performed.
From the video, the GD’s are ordering that Ross pay them for associating himself to the gang’s founder, Larry Hoover, in his song “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast).” They are also stating that he stole their six-pointed star gang symbol on the cover of his mixtape The Black Bar Mitzvah.
Currently, the police are looking into the video and the groups who made the threats in it. HipHopLead will keep you informed as more information comes out.
