Nicki Minaj Speaks On Rappers That Use Ghostwriters During Acceptance Speech

Nicki Minaj 7

At the BET Awards, Nicki Minaj took time out during her acceptance speech to make it clear that the only person writing her lyrics is her and basically called out any artist that do. Her remarks came after winning  Best Female Hip Hop Artist. She told the crowd, “When you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it.”

While Nicki went on to say her statement was not directed towards any particular person it appeared that her message was directed to fellow nominee Iggy Azalea. Nicki went on to say, “I hope and pray that BET continues to honor authenticity.”

Earlier this month Nicki had a problem  with a Forbes magazine feature about Iggy. The issue was more over the title. The original title of the piece was “Hip Hop Is Run By A White, Blonde, Australian Woman.” Negative backlash drove the headline to be  changed, but Minaj still told Power 105?s The Breakfast Club, “Listen, all Forbes needs to worry about is my finances and when I’m going to be selling Myx Fusion for $250 million. That’s all they need to worry about.”
