Nicki Minaj Claims Retails are Setting Her Up for Failure
Nicki Minaj has been in the news quite a bit lately, especially with her beef with fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey. The Harajuku Barbie is a bit concerned about how retailers are operating in respects to her new album.
Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up is Minaj’s sophomore project, but it’s not a completely new album, rather a re-release. Because of that, major retailers such as Wal-Mart and Target refused to take a chance on it, and won’t be carrying the CD.
“It’s hard to get the album because the stores basically said that the last few re-releases they had put out did not do well, and they didn’t want to take a chance. So Target and Wal-Mart is not selling the album, and Target is actually my biggest retailer. They’ve always been my biggest retailer. So they sold the most Nicki Minaj albums ever. So thank you Target, but I wish you could have sold this one. Best Buy only took limited because they were like, ‘We want to play it safe.’ It sets you up to fail. But at the end of the day, I’m happy to put the album out.”
While she promoted her album on Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club, Nicki also talked about her other projects, including a clothing line and her own record label.

i will tell you why she didnt do her numbers as she anticipated and it has nothing to do with target or walmart … first of shes gotten to full of her self .. especially with the disrespecting of a female hip hop pioneer “lil kim” but i wont get into that right now .. other than to say from the very start of her career she lacked originality … emmulating lil kim and the stylings of madonna and lady gaga … second ,, u were hire to your label young money as an hip hop artist.. not a singer … so this is part reason why her second album flopped so badly ,, we of the urban community have lost a great deal of respect for her .. and to fuel the flame she endorsed mitt romney in one of her songs … which was taken as a direct insult to the people who catapulted her into super stardom … her fragrance a flop … .. her singing a flopand the only people who like her music are little girls which she influences gay life style on .. shes a fluke and needs to be dropped from her label ….. craig mack this chick “YOU WONT BE AROUND NEXT YEAR” nicki minaj is trash ,,, you see my name larce dagrate google me and comment as u see fit
