Kendrick Lamar Hits Platinum Mark
It may be due to the recent controversy behind Kendrick’s “Control” verse that may have pushed him over the top but regardless, the Compton rapper has gone platinum on his major label debut of good kid, m.A.A.d city.
During it’s first week out, the album moved 241,000 copies. It’s now being reported by SoundScan that a total of 1,002,000 units have been purchased.
Since Big Sean released his song “Control” , Lamar has been quiet and hasn’t said much. On the track, Kendrick called out several of his peers and proclaimed himself the “King of New York.”
