Kanye West’s New Album Cover Banned In The USA
This past sunday (October 17), Kanye West announced via his Twitter profile that his album cover for “My Beautiful Twisted Fantasy” was BANNED.
Around 5pm he tweeted:
“Yoooo they banned my album cover!!!!! Ima tweet it in a few…”
After 3 hours he tweeted:
“Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!”
And followed with another:
In the 70s album covers has actual nudity… it’s so funny that people forget that… Everything has been so commercialized now.
Followed:
I know that cover just blew yall minds … i wish yall could see how hard i’m smiling right now!!!
After an hour:
In all honesty … I really don’t be thinking about Wal-Mart when i make my music or album covers #Kanyeshrug!
Followed again:
I wanna sell albums but not at the expense of true creativity.

Why would they ban that! Weird yes…but ban worthy? If artist were always banned for weird we would never have ‘the David’?! Or ‘The Thinker’?! Artist are weird and edgy…hello, their not sellout marketing media they are a-r-t-i-s-t! If he wanted to be mainstream and go out pleasing every lil listener he met he would have never came out with “‘J’ walks”! This is getting out of hand…when they did it to Nas I was like,”well..maybe I understand”..but would they do that to Marilyn Manson, Pantera, or Lady Gaga.! The media has had it out for Hip-Hop for a while but now its getting blatant. If I was Kanye I would sue…I mean fck, its the “American way”!
