Jay-Z was just getting started with his irst week sales for Magna Carta Holy Grail. It is now being reported by Billboard that the LP will have no trouble topping the charts for 2 weeks straight.
The numbers are not in yet, however industry sources can conclude that no current projects are taking Jay’s top spot.
If MCHG stays at number 1 for another week it will be the first time a rap album since 2011 has topped the Billboard 200 for consecutive weeks. The last album to do so was Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV in September of 2011.
An additional week at number one would make it five consecutive weeks that an album by a Hip Hop artist topped music sales in the nation.
