Jay Z’s Alleged Extorter, Chauncey Mahan Denies Allegations & Explains His Side
According to TMZ, Chauncey Mahan, the man accused of allegedly attempting to extort Jay Z, denies the allegations and explains why he had the recordings.
Mahan says he did not steal the master recordings but was asked by Def Jam to watch over the masters in 2002 and that Jay Z ”was a stupid kid smoking blunts” and that he was not responsible at the time.
Mahan also says that Jay Z’s employees have known of the masters’ whereabouts over the last 10 years because he has been informing them and keeping them up to date. He says the money he asked for last week was because he could no longer afford to pay for the storage fee where the masters were being kept.
