Diddy To Recieve ASCAP’s Founders Award


Sean Combs “Swag” will receive the ASCAP’s Founders Award. The ceremony will be held on June 24 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, where the authors of the most successful songs on the charts R & B / hip-hop, rap and gospel, will receive prizes. All this will take place during the 24th edition of “Rhythm & Soul Music Awards”.

Diddy will enter in a list of characters that over the years have taken his own recognition and that includes, Berry Gordy Jr., Dr. Dre, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Ashford & Simpson and others. “It ‘s an honor to be recognized for my contribution to music. All I wanted was to make people dance”, he exclaimed.

The rapper began his career at Uptown Records where he worked with Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, Heavy D, before founding his Bad Boy Entertainment, which launched the careers of Notorious BIG and Diddy as a soloist. Now he is alsoa producer.

“His success demonstrates the hard work, entrepreneurial skills and the creative genius of this man, who put his personal touch in contemporary culture”, said the chairman of ASCAP, Paul Williams.
