C-Murder will be tried a second time on a second-degree murder charge, The Associated Press reports. A trial date has been set for February 11. The rapper, who was born Corey Miller, stands accused of the shooting death of 16-year-old Steve Thomas at a Louisiana nightclub on January 12, 2002.
His 2003 conviction was tossed in March 2006 after prosecutors withheld criminal background information on witnesses from Miller’s attorney. If convicted, he faces a mandatory life sentence without parole.
