A$AP Rocky announces A$AP Mob Album & More
A lot of rappers were out in California this past weekend for the BET Awards, including A$AP Rocky, who’s been in the news a lot recently.
There was controversy over the leaked version of “Ridin” as well as his retraction of his album release date.
The Harlem native spoke to HipHopWired on the red carpet for the BET Awards, and reveals that the A$AP Mob album will be dropping within the month.
“With my album, with everything, it’s coming along great and I feel like people are going to love what they hear,” he said. “We got the A$AP Mob dropping, and that’ll be this month. So look out for that.”
He also spoke on the leak, ”I don’t know. I don’t know who leaked that record. Maybe it was Interscope, maybe it was The KickDrums. But whoever did that, fuck you and suck my dick,” he said.
Some beef has been buzzing between two young rappers, A$AP Rocky and SpaceGhostPurrp, both of whom share a similar sound, with a southern influence and affinity for lean.
SpaceGhostPurrp is a producer/rapper, many people first came across his name on A$AP Rocky’s debut mixtape, LiveLoveA$AP. He has since been steadily growing a buzz and dropping new music, with help from his Raider Klan.
In a recent vlog, Purrp dissed A$AP Rocky, saying that Rocky had stolen his style and even some of his lyrics for “Goldie” MTV caught up with Rocky and asked what’s going on between the two. Rocky was not showing any love, he took shots right back at Purrp.
“F him, fuck him, straight up. He’s one of those cats, like a lot of guys just hang around me, try to get hype, and when they dip off, start throwing dirt on the young on the blood. But they can’t stop the pretty motherfucker,” Rocky said. “At the end of the day, he know what it is and he trying to lie to people, pumping that we took styles from him. I mean, if you really look at it, the proof is in the pudding. He’s corny. Stick to making beats, that’s all I gotta say.”
