It’s funny what they sometimes, “Be careful what you wish for…” because it’s very true. This week alone I’ve been to three different studios, performed, did many interviews and it just Wednesday. Sometimes exhaustion sets in but you have to keep your stamina up in this game.
One of my records “What U Expected” (Prod. by Statik Selektah) got played on Hot97 recently, which is one of the biggest radio stations in NYC. Peter Rosenberg played the track on his show and that was monumental to me.
I respect people like him, Ed Lover (Power 105) and a few other personalities and DJ’s on the who still try to play real Hip Hop. They are truly a rare breed in this day and age but people like them give me hope for the future.
I am really doing a million things at once, sometimes I wish I had an assistant or something haha but it’s all good. I love every minute of it. I headed to two video shoots this week to show my support (something I feel this game really lacks, especially in New York) and then I will be fine tuning some of the music I am writing for my album before I go back into the studio next week. That is really my main focus these days, (“Minute After Midnight” my debut album) just making sure that I make a great album. I really want it to make a statement not just about me, but also for Hip Hop as well.
This culture is alive and kicking and I feel like people just need to hear it sometimes to know that.
Well, my day is just getting started so I gotta get back to work. I hope all is well out there and make sure to check out my latest records on my page “What the People Want” Prod. by Ron Browz and What U Expected “Prod. by Statik Selektak.
